The Situation
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI), a leading health insurance provider, needed help transforming a fragmented intranet into a high-quality information source for its 1,600 employees. With information residing in many locations and confusing navigation tools, many employees abandoned the Intranet and instead disseminated information through mass e-mail and printed communications. BCBSRI wanted an easy-to-manage solution that would improve communication across the enterprise and reduce its dependence on mass email and printed communications.
The Solution
Using IBM WebSphere, Acsys Healthcare worked with BCBSRI to consolidate the company’s employee communications into one venue. A powerful Portal feature provided exceptional search efficiency. Content, which included news and calendars, was presented in corporate, divisional and departmental views. The Web site was maintained by multiple content owners using a set of easy-to-use content management tools created by Acsys Healthcare.
